You are cordially invited to attend a very important meeting
for Christian leaders in South East London for your input
in the development and production of an HIV booklet from
a Christian perspective.
Since 2005, the London Ecumenical AIDS Trust (LEAT) and
the Ethnic Health Foundation (EHF) supported by the Lambeth,
Southwark & Lewisham Primary Care Trusts have worked
in close partnership with local churches across the 3
boroughs. To date, we have provided HIV prevention support
to more than 30 churches around Lambeth, Southwark and
Lewisham. Our interventions have been successful due to
your positive engagement. However, one of the major gaps
that we have noted with most churches is the absence of
appropriate information resources specific to Christian
communities. Based on our experience and learning, we
have therefore committed ourselves to actively engage
with you in developing a simple, clear, concise, relevant
and appropriate booklet that raises awareness of “HIV
from a Christian perspective”.
We consider you an important partner in this process
and hence this invitation. As a recognition for your contribution,
the names of all the participating churches will be included
in the final print of the booklet . We aim to launch the
booklet around World AIDS Day which comes on 1st of December.
Date of meeting: Saturday the 18th of October 2008
Time: 1100hrs – 1400 hrs (prompt)
Venue: Premier Hotel (B/w Tesco and LIDL)
194-202 Old Kent Road, London, SE1 5TY
Please note that for this particular meeting, a small
allowance of £20 will be paid to cover your travel
expenses. Lunch will also be provided following the session
which will last not more than 3hours. We are really looking
forward to a great time working with you and we believe
that together we can make a difference.
We request you to kindly confirm by the 3rd of October

meeting. We have reserved only 20 places for this meeting.
