The project’s principal aim is to provide basic health check facilities within reach for BME communities in their estates and work places.

The project’s objectives are:
- Early identification of the proportion of Black and minority ethnic group who are likely to be at risk of developing renal or cardiovascular diseases. These may refer to categories of people who may have undiagnosed hypertension and diabetes and /or having a body mass index over 25 and a family history of any of the above indicators
- To reduce the barrier between BME communities and access to primary care services
- To increase their awareness of particular diseases through targeted information, advice and counselling
(collectively as a group and individually)
- To increase BME’s access to primary and secondary health care services. To encourage an uptake of GP services
