EHF was founded in 2002 to engage the black and minority ethnic communities in training, health improvement and disease prevention.

Mr Goswill Udo coordinatorThe formation was occasioned by issues around general health of Black and Minority Ethnic Communities (BMEC) particularly African and African-Caribbean communities which include the statistical increase in admission of young and elderly men and women to acute care setting (hospital) with non-communicable diseases as a result of lack of information, health education and awareness.

This concern followed an ad-hoc needs assessment of BMEC particularly African and African-Caribbean communities which was carried out by EHF. The result revealed a low uptake of primary care services amongst BMEC particularly African and African-Caribbean communities.
